Planning "On Purpose" Time With Your Teenager - Part 2
April 17, 2019

Out of the mouths of babes! If you haven’t already done so, please check out this month's video here. You may be surprised to hear what teenagers are saying about spending “on purpose” time with their parent

Just to make it clear, they want to spend time with us, even if it’s hard to find the time. Especially if it’s hard. Intentionally scheduling some "on purpose" time with your teen means that we aren’t going anywhere else, or focusing on anything else. It shows that we love them unconditionally, first. There is something to be said about being someone’s priority, and “on purpose” time tells your teenager that they are definitely your priority.

Schedules are packed, time is scarce, patience is often thin, and it is for that very reason that this is so important! Just ask yourself how you would feel if another person dropped everything just to invest in you. You might never receive encouragement, or a thank you, or even a grunt from your teenager. But you will make an impact, because you are their greatest influence!
